Taro is a family of classic dining and meeting tables made of solid oak. The tabletop features longitudinal machined grooves along the table surface referencing the traditional plank table. The use of selected knotless oak and minimal quartersawn staves creates a refined and streamlined effect.

Jasper Morrison was inspired to design the Taro table in order to make use of the premium grade quartersawn oak which is used in the production of many Fredericia furniture pieces. The timber used at the Fredericia factory comes from trees aged upwards of 150 years old when felled and reducing wastage of this precious natural material was a key priority in the design of the Taro collection. The use of narrow staves for the tabletop ensures efficient use of the available wood while enhancing the overall elegance of the design.
