Oda Lounge Chair by Arnold Madsen for Menu.
Designed in 1957 by the Danish upholsterer-turned-furniture designer Arne Madsen, the Oda armchair is a cocooned-shaped lounge chair with an expressive design. It features integrated wooden armrests and softly moulded lumbar support, offering exceptional comfort when seated.
Although the seat was considered highly ambitious and experimental at the time, it has proven to be a timeless and classic seat – despite falling off the radar for a brief moment in history. Originally named the MS-9, the Oda range was almost forgotten until the 1980s, when it was rediscovered by Noritsugu Oda, an expert and collector of Danish design. It was wrongly accredited to Nanna Ditzel at the time and was later renamed the Oda Chair after Noritsugu.
